Rangers Boss Gerrard Provides Explanation For Aribo's Absence Against Livingston
Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo was a shock omission from Glasgow Rangers matchday squad against Livingston in a  Scottish Premiership game staged at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Sunday evening.

This is the first time in the new season that the former Charlton Athletic man has not been utilised by the Liverpool legend.

Gerrard explained to reporters before kickoff that Aribo was not named in the squad because he suffered a minor training ground injury ahead of the trip to Livingston.

In quotes carried by Glasgow Times, Gerrard stated : "He has a little knock. We are hoping to have him available next weekend. It was too risky to do it today."

Summer signing Leon Balogun missed today's game as a result of a quad injury he suffered  in the win against St. Johnstone last Wednesday.

Of the 54 matches played by Rangers in all competitions last season, Aribo played in 49 of them and was in action for 3,515 minutes, scoring 9 goals and providing eight assists.

The Light Blues were held to a goalless draw by Livingston but still top the table with ten points garnered from four games, thanks to their superior goal difference over Hibernian.
