Italian Serie A New Boys Crotone In Talks With Former Lazio Midfielder Eddy Onazi
Published: August 25, 2020
Nigeria international Eddy Onazi could be returning to the Italian Serie A four years after he ended his affiliation with Lazio.
According to various reports in the Italian media, including Tuttomercatoweb, Serie A new boys Crotone are working on a deal to sign Onazi and have been in contact with his camp since July.
There is talk of an imminent agreement between Onazi and Crotone who were promoted to the Italian top-flight last term after finishing second in the Serie B.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations-winning midfielder is on the lookout for a new club after terminating his contract with Denizlispor last month due to unpaid wages.
Before joining Denizlispor in January 2020, Onazi wore the colours of Trabzonspor for three and a half seasons.
The 27-year-old made 110 appearances for Lazio, scoring 7 goals spread across four seasons and represented the club in the Europa League and Champions League qualifying rounds.
