Former Nigeria U17 international Olakunle Olusegun grabbed a hat-trick on his competitive debut for Danish club Boldklubben Fremad Amager as they defeated B 1908 3-1 in the first round of the DBU Pokalen on Tuesday evening.
Olusegun needed only eight minutes to open his goalscoring account for Fremad Amager, doubled the advantage seven minutes before half-time, then made sure he went home with the match ball when he fired a left-footed shot past the goalkeeper after dribbling past two opponents midway through the second half.
Having made a splash on his debut, the ex-ABS Ilorin FC forward has set his sights on winning the top scorer award in the Danish First Division for the 2020-2021 season.
"First and foremost I give thanks to God Almighty, I'm so happy signing my first professional contract," Olusegun said.
"It's a privilege and big opportunity for me and I thank God for today's match, scoring a hat-trick.
"It's not that easy but I tried, I gave my possible best to achieve that because I know it was my debut and I know I can do it and to God be the glory I made it."
The number 6 continued : "My target is to go for the highest goalscorer, I don't care what happens.
