Manchester United Striker Ighalo's Squad Number For 2020-2021 Season Revealed
Published: September 10, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that former Nigeria international Odion Ighalo has opted to retain the number he wore in his first seven months as a Manchester United player, meaning he will be wearing the number 25 for the 2020-2021 campaign.
The number is popular in these parts due to the exploits of Super Eagles legend Nwankwo Kanu at Arsenal and it's also used by Wilfred Ndidi at Leicester City.
Antonio Valencia, Nick Powell, Danny Simpson, David Jones, Quinton Fortune, Jordi Cruyff, Kevin Pilkington and Gary Walsh previously wore Manchester United's number 25 kit.
Ighalo is expected to train with his Red Devils teammates today ahead of their friendly with Aston Villa on Saturday.
Despite missing the first half of the season, he finished fifth on the Manchester United scoring chart for the 2019-2020 campaign with 5 goals in nineteen matches, and one of his strikes was nominated for the club's Goal of the Season accolade.
The Shanghai Shenhua-owned player is on loan at Manchester United until January 2021.
