2013 FIFA U17 World Cup Best GK Alampasu Gives Reason For His Recall To Super Eagles
2013 FIFA U17 World Cup best goalkeeper Dele Alampasu has spoken of his happiness at being recalled to the Super Eagles ahead of their upcoming friendlies against Ivory Coast and Tunisia in Austria next month.

Everything indicates that the Ventspils star will make his full senior debut in either of the matches as he is the most experienced of the three goalkeepers named to the squad list by manager Gernot Rohr.

"For me to see my name on the list, I am so, so glad that I was working towards something and it went according to plan," Alampasu told allnigeriasoccer.com.

"I was really working hard to get back to the national team and God has done that, I am not in the place where I want to be but I am still working towards there.

"This is a big privilege for me - to grab my chance in the national team back. I am so, so happy to see my name on the list for the friendly games.

"I am looking forward to the games and I hope everything goes well."

It is believed that Alampasu pushed himself into Nigeria reckoning with his performances for Ventspils in the Virsliga and in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League.

The former Feirense goalkeeper had been in the international wilderness for three years because he was inactive at club level.

"The main reason I wasn't called up before was because the club I was playing for I didn't have playing time but now I am having playing time and I am trying to show that I am available.

"I am working so hard to play and God did it for me I've played some games this season including in the Europa League qualifiers despite that I am not in my best yet here," Alampasu added.

Alampasu first made a name for himself with the Golden Eaglets seven years ago, going the distance in every single game during the tournament in United Arab Emirates as the Manu Garba-led side won the trophy a fourth time.

In the current season, the 23-year-old has eight games under his belt, including two in European competition.
