Odion Ighalo Names Two Game-changers In Manchester United's Win Vs Luton Town
Published: September 23, 2020
Manchester United star Odion Ighalo believes that the introduction of pacy England internationals Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood changed the outcome of yesterday's Carabao Cup third round clash against Luton Town.
With the home team trailing 1-0 and roughly twelve minutes remaining, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær brought on Greenwood and Rashford to replace Juan Mata and Ighalo respectively.
Rashford doubled the advantage two minutes from time before Greenwood opened his account for the season in stoppage time.
Ighalo reserved special praise for Academy product Dean Henderson who kept a clean sheet on his debut for the Red Devils.
Speaking to United's official website, Ighalo said : "He's a good goalkeeper and he made that save and gave us the confidence to keep pushing."
The Shanghai Shenhua loanee added : "Like the gaffer said, we have to score more goals to finish the game, because 1-0 is never a [guaranteed] win. So that's why we were pushing to get more goals.
"You see when Mason [Greenwood] came in, and [Marcus] Rashford, you see that we had more speed up there, because they were a bit tired back there. So the goals came in. We are very happy we are through to the next round."

Ighalo and his Manchester United teammates will face either Brighton & Hove or Preston North End in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
