Grieving Ex-Flying Eagles Star Ofoborh Makes Championship Debut For Bournemouth
Four years after transferring to Bournemouth from Tottenham Hotspur, ex-Flying Eagles star Nnamdi Ofoborh made his Championship debut on Friday night as the Cherries defeated Coventry City 3-1 at the St Andrew's Trillion Trophy Stadium (Birmingham), allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Ofoborh has been in terrific form of late, starring against Premier League opposition Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup and followed up with another impressive performance against defending champions of the competition Manchester City in the third round, despite playing out of position as a central defender.

On the back of his imperious display against the Eagles and Citizens, it was only a matter of time before Ofoborh made his league debut for the Cherries and it happened when he came off the bench in the 89th minute to replace Dan Gosling.

The 20-year-old was grieving before the trip to B9 4RL as he lost his aunt, Ella, who passed away last week.

It is no secret that the Nigeria Football Federation are keeping tabs on Ofoborh with a view to a possible call-up to the Super Eagles after the eye-catching progress he has made in recent seasons.

Jefferson Lerma and a second half brace from Dan Gosling secured a win for the Cherries - their third of the season - and they are now top in the provisional standings.
