Official: Chelsea Bring In Goalkeeper To Provide Competition For Adegoke, Chibueze
Published: October 06, 2020
With a statement on their official website, French Ligue 2 club Paris FC have informed that they have reached an agreement with Chelsea over the permanent transfer of promising goalkeeper Sami Tlemcani to the Premier League club.
Tlemcani first trained with the professional group at Paris FC at the age of fifteen, a sign of how highly rated he is at the club.
The young Frenchman will provide competition for two Nigerian goalkeepers in Kelechi Chibueze and Prince Adegoke, plus Lucas Bergström in Chelsea U18 team.
While Chibueze made his full debut for Chelsea U18s in a 4-1 win against West Ham on matchday two, former Golden Eaglets invitee Adegoke hasn't figured competitively for the age group as he is still recovering after undergoing meniscus surgery.
The 2003-born goalkeeper picked up an injury just before the pre-season friendly against Crystal Palace at Cobham.
Chibueze has acted as backup to Bergström so far this season, making the matchday squads for the opening four matches of the new U18 Premier League season.
