Super Eagles Player Ratings : Sanusi Promising; Balogun Assured; Ebuehi Confident; Onuachu, Onyeka Low Marks The Super Eagles were beaten 1-0 in Friday's international friendly against the Desert Foxes of Algeria.

Allnigeriasoccer.com's Izuchukwu Okosi here rates the players on the night.

The Starters

Maduka Okoye (GK) : The goalkeeper made some outstanding saves in the game but was unable to keep out Ramy Bensebaini's goal in the sixth minute.  7/10

Tyrone Ebuehi (RB) : Started the game on a rather jittery note but grew in confidence afterwards. Flashed a shot wide with the goal in sight. 8/10.

Zaidu Sanusi (LB) : The Porto left-back had a very promising debut for Nigeria. Was fearless  in defending and showed his attacking attributes too. 8/10.

William Troost-Ekong (CB) : The captain of the night had some nervy moments but his experience was still invaluable to keep away the Algerians. 6/10

Leon Balogun (CB) : Balogun was a more assured centre back than his partner Ekong. He defended well and even made carried the ball forward a few times. 7.5/10.

Midfielders

Semi Ajayi (CMD) : Played in defensive midfield. Ajayi did his job decently always looking to release his more  attacking teammates with good through passes. Helped shore up the defence that looked on danger of conceding more. 6.5/10.

Frank Onyeka (CDM) : Not a debut he would have wished for, Frank Onyeka was easily overrun by the Algerians he  was meant to put in check. Hooked off in the second half.  4/10.

Alex Iwobi (AM) : The only creative spark in the midfield that missed Wilfred Ndidi and Oghenekaro Etebo. Laid the passes and produced good link up plays but his shots at goal were disappointing. 7/10.

Samuel Kalu (LW) : The Bordeaux star wasted a few goal scoring  chances but his game improved before he was subbed off. 5/10.

Samuel Chukwueze (RW) : He was an attacking threat as usual though his final balls were lacking the requisite qualities most times. 6/10.

Paul Onuachu (ATT) : The striker was not a threat to the Algerians this night albeit his height posed a few problems for the north Africans. Helped defend set pieces. 4.5/10.

The Substitutes

Mikel Agu : Was committed to shore up a midfield that lacked the usual spark when introduced I the second half. 4/10

Moses Simon : Was a threat when he came off the bench. 6/10.

Samson Tijani : Barely had the time to impress but good introduction to the team. 5/10.

Ahmed Musa : Not much time but brought calming influence to a tired team. 5/10.

Kelechi Iheanacho : Not much that he offered. 4/10.

Kevin Akpoguma : Was not being played in his best position after replacing starting right-back Ebuehi. 4/10.
