Marseille Star Ruled Out Of Tunisia's Friendly Against Nigeria On Tuesday
Published: October 12, 2020
According to reporting by Tunisian website Tunisie Numerique, Marseile midfielder Saîf-Eddine Khaoui will not play a part for Tunisia when they take on the Super Eagles on Tuesday.
Khaoui has not traveled with the Tunisia squad after suffering an injury during the 3-0 victory over Sudan on Friday, October 9.
It was earlier speculated that Khaoui had contracted the coronavirus which is not the case.
The Paris-born midfielder is expected to return to Marseille to undergo further assessment before their meeting with Bordeaux on Saturday, October 17.
Khaoui's absence will be a big blow for the Carthage Eagles given his rich vein of form, with three goals in his last three appearances for the national team.
Zamalek's Ferjani Sassi and Vancouver Whitecaps defender Jasser Khmiri are also not available for selection against Nigeria.
The Super Eagles battle Tunisia at the Jacques Lemans Arena on Tuesday, starting from 1930 hours.
