Ideho's Squad Number At Arsenal Revealed After Transfer From Ajax Amsterdam
Published: November 10, 2020
Joel Ideho's squad number at Arsenal has been revealed following his switch from Dutch Eredvisie glamour club Ajax Amsterdam in the summer transfer window.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can report that the Tilburg-born winger will be wearing the number 95 jersey for the remainder of the 2020-2021 season.
Ideho was named in the matchday squad as Arsenal U21s were held to a 1-1 draw by League One club Gillingham in a Papa John's Trophy clash at the Priestfield Stadium on Tuesday evening but did not get an opportunity to play his firstĀ official game with the shirt number.
The 17-year-old will wear the number 95 if he debuts for the Gunners first team in the Premier League, Carabao Cup or Emirates FA Cup.
Ideho made his competitive debut for Arsenal youth teams in last Friday's 6-0 rout of Blackburn Rovers U23s in the Premier League 2, coming off the bench to replace Folarin Balogun with nine minutes remaining.
Meanwhile, Nigerian-born midfielder Tim Akinola and Balogun played the full game for Arsenal against Gillingham and the striker was among their scorers in the penalty shootout which was won 4-2 by the visitors.
Arsenal have advanced to the knockout stage of the Papa John's Trophy after topping Southern Group B with eight points.
