Reassuring Injury Update On Kalu But Bordeaux Winger Doubtful To Face PSG
Published: November 24, 2020
There has been a reassuring update on the injury suffered by Samuel Kalu during the second half of Bordeaux's 1-0 win at Stade Rennais last Friday which led to his substitution on the hour-mark.
The Nigeria national teamer made way for Rémi Oudin after feeling discomfort
in the hamstring, the same injury that kept him on the sidelines for
several weeks.
Kalu has undergone further checks and his latest ailment is not as bad as first feared.
However, the winger has emerged as a doubt to face the champions Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes (Paris) on Saturday, November 28, regional newspaper Sud Ouest has reported.
All things being equal, the Bordeaux number 10 will resume full training next week and is in contention to be in the group for the home match with Brest on December 6.
In his first league game for roughly seven weeks, Kalu supplied the match-winning assist in the road win against Rennes.
In the current season, the 23-year-old has scored two goals in seven appearances for Bordeaux and was in action for 302 minutes.
Bordeaux are currently at the 12th position in the French Ligue 1 standings.
