Published: December 08, 2020
Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem has been named in the Portuguese Primeira Liga Team of the Week by football statistics website Whoscored.com.
Awaziem shone at the heart of defence for Boavista as they were held to a goalless draw by Rio Ave at the Estádio dos Arcos on Sunday evening, the third clean sheet kept by the side in their last four matches in the division.
Awaziem's display was rated at 7.2 and he was partnered in central defence in the Team of the Week by Tondela's Enzo Martínez.
The Nigeria international attempted 41 passes over the course of 90 minutes against Rio Ave - 82.9 percent of which were accurate - and made a joint game-high four clearances and was also the stat leader for interceptions with four.
He made two tackles in total, committed two fouls while winning two aerial duels.
The Porto loanee has put in a full shift in eight of the nine matches played by Boavista in the Primiera Liga this season.
