NFF Chief Ducks Question On Claims Super Eagles Medics Made Osimhen's Shoulder Injury Worse
Published: December 09, 2020
Reports in the Italian media late last week had claimed that Super Eagles medical team made Victor Osimhen's shoulder injury worse while attempting to put it back in place during the national team's 4-4 draw with Sierra Leone at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on November 13.
The report added that the Napoli striker was not correctly treated by the national team medics and it could see the striker spend more time on the sidelines.
The initial prognosis from Rohr and his medical staff was that Osimhen would spend a maximum of three weeks on the sidelines but his rehabilitation has not gone according to plan and he is rated as doubtful for at least two more matches having missed five already since his return to Italy.
With Nigeria's reputation dragged through the mud, Nigeria Football Federation General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi was contacted to respond to the allegation of Nigerian medics not properly treating Osimhen.
Sanusi replied : "I don't want to say anything on medical and technical issues, there are people who are qualified to do that, but we always make sure that we keep in touch with our players on technical and health issues.
"It is not everything that you respond to, not everything you put on the pages of newspapers."

Osimhen had physiotherapy and worked alone in the gym and on the pitch during Napoli's training session on Monday.
