Published: January 04, 2021
Two attack-minded players of Nigerian descent have been included in the latest League One and League Two Team of the Week powered by Whoscored.com ratings.
While Queens Park Rangers loanee Olamide Shodipo was named in the Best XI players for League 1, Rotherham United-owned winger Joshua Kayode was selected in the Team of the Week for the fourth-tier.
Shodipo helped Oxford United thrash Burton Albion 5-1, scoring a 13-minute brace in the first half to take his league tally to six goals in 14 matches.
The former Republic of Ireland U21 international had the most shots on target (3), won two fouls and made 22 touches.
Shodipo was named in attack in the Team of the Week, though he is predominantly a left winger.
A division lower, Lagos-born Republic of Ireland U21 star Kayode occupied the right side of midfield in a 3-4-3 formation in the Team of the Week.
He was recognized after finding the net in Carlisle United's 2-0 road win against Walsall at the Banks's Stadium.
Kayode won a game-high eight aerial duels, had the most shots on target with two and made two key passes.
