'It Was A Beautiful Goal' - Michael Owen Praises Palace's Eze For 'Goal Of The Season Contender'
Published: January 04, 2021
England U21 international of Nigerian parentage Eberechi Eze scored a stunning solo goal after coming off the bench to help Crystal Palace defeat Sheffield United 2-0 in the Premier League this past weekend.
Six minutes into first half stoppage time, the former Super Eagles invitee breezed past a number of players from the half-way line before nonchalantly rolling the ball into the far corner.
Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has described Eze's strike as a beautiful goal, while his club Crystal Palace have predicted that the goal from their number 25 is a Goal of the Season contender.
Speaking after the game at Selhurst Park, Owen said on Premier League Productions : "Scoring this goal he was just gliding I was thinking at the time, he's just jogging, change of pace, it was a beautiful goal.
"Great action, his legs even though they look as if they are going slow, he's actually going away from people."

With 39 percent of the votes, Eze was picked as Palace's Man of the Match despite spending less than one hour on the pitch.
The 22-year-old was nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Month for November 2020 for his sensational free-kick goal vs Leeds United, an award eventually won by Super Eagles defender Ola Aina.
