Super Eagles Target Nominated For Southampton Goal Of The Month December 2020
Published: January 07, 2021
Former Arsenal trainee Nathan Tella has been nominated for Southampton's Sportsbet.io Goal of the Month for December 2020, informs the official website of the Saints.
Tella showcased his credentials as a goalscorer during Southampton B's 5-2 rout of Leicester City in a Premier League 2 game on December 12, notching four goals in the space of 34 minutes in the first half.
One of his strikes in the comprehensive win against the Foxes has been shortlisted for the club's Goal of the Month accolade.
Tella is up against Theo Walcott and Southampton Women's star Rachel Panting for the December award.
The Anglo-Nigerian winger has won Southampton's Goal of the Month award in the past, back in May 2017.
This season, Tella has appeared in six matches for the first team of the St Mary's Stadium outfit, including two starts.
Tella's progress with Southampton this season is being monitored by
manager Gernot Rohr's chief scout in England, Tunde Adelakun with a
view to a potential call-up to the Super Eagles.
