2013 AFCON Winner Now Chelsea's Longest-Serving Player On A First Team Contract After Piazon's Departure
Published: January 16, 2021
2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner Victor Moses has become Chelsea's longest-serving player on a first-team contract, an honour he shares with Spanish fullback César Azpilicueta.
Brazilian forward Lucas Piazon has finally ended his nine-year association with The Blues, joining Sporting Braga on a permanent deal two days ago.
Moses was acquired by Chelsea from Wigan Athletic on August 24, 2012, on the same date the west London club brought in Azpilicueta from Marseille.
As of today, the former Super Eagles star has been on the books of Chelsea for 8 years and 145 days.
The versatile winger has been farmed out on loan to six different clubs since his arrival at Stamford Bridge namely Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham, Fenerbahce, Inter Milan and Spartak Moscow.
The 30-year-old has appeared in 128 games for Chelsea, scoring 18 goals and was a key member of the squad that won the Premier League title in 2017.
