Super Eagles Star Ogu On Trial At Denizlispor, To Be Coverted To Center Back If Signed
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Turkish Super Lig strugglers Denizlispor have taken Nigeria international John Ogu on trial with a view to a transfer in the January transfer window.

The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medalist has been on the lookout for a new employer since parting company with Saudi Arabian club Al-Adalah, for whom he made seven appearances.

With his side having one of the worst defensive records in the Super Lig, manager Yalcin Kosukavak is in the market for a left-footed central defender and has started running the rule over Ogu.

Kosukavak is planning to fully convert the Super Eagles star to a center back should he impress at the end of tests.

Although Ogu is predominantly a central midfielder, he is not new to the center back position as he was asked to play that role by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr in the build-up to the World Cup in Russia.

A short-term deal until the end of the 2020-2021 season is on the cards if the former Hapoel Beer Sheva man catches the eye.

On his curriculum vitae, the 32-year-old lists Drava Ptuj, Almeria, União de Leiria and Académica among his previous clubs.
