Published: January 19, 2021
German 2. Bundesliga table-toppers Hamburg have loaned out Anglo-Nigerian winger Xavier Amaechi to Karlsruher SC.
The Arsenal Academy product will be spending the remainder of the 2020-2021 season at the Wildparkstadion.
Ever since Amaechi moved to Hamburg, he has found it difficult breaking into the starting eleven, making five substitute appearances to date in all competitions, logging 64 minutes in total.
The 20-year-old impressed in the Regionalliga Nord, where he got game practice with Hamburg II, netting five goals in six league appearances.
In his first words after the deal was confirmed, Amaechi said to KSC's official webpage : "I'm happy to be here in Karlsruhe now and want to play football here week after week.
"Christian Eichner got in contact with me through Michael Mutzel and spoke to me often. I would like to repay the trust now."
Hamburg acquired Amaechi from Arsenal for a fee of 2.5 million euros in the summer of 2019.
