Official : Former Inter Milan Midfielder Awua Loaned Out By Spezia For The Seventh Time
Published: January 21, 2021
With a statement on their official website, Italian Serie A club Spezia have announced that Nigerian central midfielder Theophilus Awua has been recalled from his loan spell at AS Cittadella.
The press release added that Awua will move to Serie C side FC Pro Vercelli 1892 on a temporary basis until 30 June, 2021.
Spezia have decided to recall the Nigerian from his loan spell at AS Cittadella due to a lack of first-team opportunities, with only one start in the Serie B from a possible seventeen.
He was named in the starting lineup for two of Spezia's three matches in the Coppa Italia but missed the recent win against AS Roma.
This is the seventh time Awua has been loaned out by The Little Eagles having previously defended the colours of Inter Milan, Juve Stabia, Rende, Bari and Livorno on a temporary basis apart from the aforementioned clubs.
A product of Abuja Football College, he played 28 games for Inter Milan's Primavera team during the 2016-2017 season.
