Ex-Tottenham Starlet Madueke Double Nominated For PSV Eindhoven Goal Of The Month
Published: February 05, 2021
Tottenham Hotspur academy product Nonso Madueke is a contender for PSV Eindhoven's Goal Of The Month for January 2021, informs the Eredivisie giants on their official webpage.
The highly-talented winger cum attacking midfielder has been double nominated for the monthly accolade for his strikes against Sparta Rotterdam and FC Volendam.
Madueke scored PSV's third goal in an entertaining 5-3 victory over Sparta Rotterdam, tucking the ball away past goalkeeper Maduka Okoye after a sweet cross from Jordan Teze in the 49th minute.
Three days after his strike against Sparta, on January 19, the England youth international got on the scoresheet again as PSV defeated FC Volendam 2-0 in the round of 16 of the KNVB Beker.
In the 51st minute, Madueke opened the scoring when he controlled a pass well and unleashed a curling shot from the edge of the penalty area that flew into the top corner of the net.
Strikes from Eran Zahavi (2), Philipp Max (2), Mathias Kjolo, Nigel Thomas, Jeslynn Kuijpers and Laura Strik are also up for nomination.
Madueke has been involved in 16 goals (8 goals, 8 assists) in 24 games across all competitions for PSV so far in 2020-2021.
