Published: February 06, 2021
Two teenagers of Nigerian descent in the form of Reading's Femi Azeez and Aston Villa's Carney Chukwuemeka were on target for their respective teams in Premier League 2 matches on Friday, January 5.
At Bodymoor Heath Training Ground, the points were shared following an eight-goal thriller between Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.
The 17-year-old midfielder Chukwuemeka extended Aston Villa's lead to 4-2 with an emphatic finish, his first competitive goal for the U23s.
Promising striker David Omilabu made his first appearance for the Eagles in the Premier League 2.
Elsewhere, Miguel Azeez's brother, Femi continued his purple patch with Reading's fourth goal in their 5-2 rout of West Brom at Hogwood Park Training Ground.
Twelve minutes from time, Femi Azeez took full advantage, converting high beyond the goalkeeper from close range after the Baggies failed to clear their lines.
The winger has found the net in three of his last four games in the division.
