'He's One Of The Best In The Premier League At That' - Leicester Boss Hails Ndidi's Display Vs Liverpool
Published: February 13, 2021
Leicester City coach Brendan Rodgers was full of praise for Wilfred Ndidi following his brilliant performance in a 3-1 win against the champions Liverpool at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Foxes have moved into second in the table thanks to goals from James Maddison, Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes.
Making his first Premier League start since the draw at Everton, Ndidi exhibited his ball recovery skills, finishing with nineteen, more than any other player in the Premier League so far this season.
The Nigeria international set up the third goal scored by Harvey Barnes to cap off a brilliant individual display.
Speaking at the post-match press conference monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com, Rodgers told reporters : "All the stats show you when he plays for us the difference he makes, and for him even to get an assist for the third goal was very pleasing.
"But at the highest level of the game you need someone who can recover you the ball especially when you've talented players and he's one of the best in the Premier League at that so he was colossal today for us, and he really typified a really good team performance".
Ndidi has made seventeen appearances for Leicester City in all competitions this term, logging 1,244 minutes.
