Red-hot Tottenham Hotspur striker Etete hoping to catch Mourinho's Eye
Published: March 06, 2021
Kion Etete is now in the best form of his career since joining Tottenham Hotspur following a string of fine displays for the U23 team and will be hoping to catch the eye of first team boss Jose Mourinho.
Even the Premier League took note of his fine form in recent weeks by nominating him for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for January.
Since his prized move to Tottenham Hotspur from Notts County in the summer of 2019, Etete has not made his senior debut for the north London club but has shown he has all the tools needed to excel if given an opportunity by Mourinho.
Aged 19, Etete has proved he can be relied upon to get goals, scoring seven in his last ten games in the Premier League 2 while providing two assists.
Tottenham Hotspur U23 are third in the league standings and undefeated in seven matches mainly because of the important role played by the Anglo-Nigerian frontman.
Against Everton on Friday, he opened the scoring in the 16th minute before setting up the winning goal in the 63rd minute.
Prior to Etete's promotion to Spurs' U23 team, he tallied an impressive 10 goals in 14 appearances for the U18s.
