Manchester City's next big thing Sodje takes tally to 18 goals for the season
Published: March 17, 2021
Anglo-Nigerian striker Tai Sodje continues to top the scoring charts in the U18 Premier League after getting on the scoresheet in a six-goal thriller between Manchester City and Derby County at Moor Farm Training Centre on Tuesday evening.
The number 9 went the distance for the Citizens and same applies to Derby County duo Osazee Aghatise and Ola Ibrahim.
Sodje's goal midway through the first half after he was set up by Carlos Borges gave Manchester City the advantage at the break.
In doing so, he took his tally for the season to 18 goals in the U18 Premier League, and also equaled his best scoring streak in the division, having netted in four straight games, something he first achieved in the first four matches of 2020-2021.
His standout performance came in the 3-1 win at Liverpool, where he scored his first competitive hat-trick for a Manchester City team.
Manchester City U18s were denied a win against the Rams when their former player Aghatise equalised for the home team deep into injury time.
