Barnsley striker of Nigerian descent celebrates United States call-up with brace vs Wycombe
The international future of Oklahoma-born Orlando City loanee Daryl Dike could be decided in the coming months.

Dike has been named in the United States Men's National Team squad for their international friendlies against Jamaica and Northern Ireland this month.

If the Nigeria-eligible attacker were to appear in both games, it would take his international appearances to three, meaning he would be cap-tied to the Americans if he plays a further game before he turns 21.

Dike is one of three players of Nigerian descent named in the United States 26-man squad announced by the United States Soccer Federation on Wednesday, the others being uncapped Leicester City goalkeeper Chituru Odunze and highly touted Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Owen Otasowie.

The striker celebrated his call-up to the Stars and Stripes squad by scoring his first brace in English football as playoff-chasing Barnsley defeated Wycombe Wanderers 3-1 on Wednesday night.

Three minutes into the second half, Dike doubled the Reds advantage when he nodded home after he was set up by
Mads Andersen and scored from close range to make it 3-0 in the 81st minute, before former Dream Team VI invitee Uche Ikpeazu pulled a goal back five minutes from time.

Dike is enjoying a rich vein of form with five goals in his last seven matches in the EFL Championship.
