'He's been rewarded for his hard work' - Leicester midfielder Tielemans on Iheanacho stepping up
Published: March 19, 2021Leicester City's Belgian international Youri Tielemans has paid tribute to Kelechi Iheanacho before Sunday's Emirates FA Cup clash against Manchester United.
The Super Eagles striker has put himself in contention to be nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award after racking up five goals in three matches this month, including his first hat-trick in the top-flight in the 5-0 hammering of Sheffield United last Sunday.
Tielemans believes that Iheanacho is in red-hot form at the moment because he has been working hard.
"Especially for Kelechi to score a hat-trick in the Premier League is really nice," Tielemans said to Leicester City's official website.
"He's been working really hard lately and he's been rewarded for his hard work."
Tielemans has set up two of the goals scored by Iheanacho this season, both coming against Brighton & Hove.
The Super Eagle has netted six goals in the Premier League, one goal in three FA Cup outings, along with three in seven Europa League encounters, which puts him well on course to register his best season in English football.
