Red-hot striker Etete on target as Tottenham Hotspur beat Manchester United U23s 3-0
Published: March 19, 2021
For the second time this season, Tottenham Hotspur's Anglo-Nigerian striker Kion Etete was on target against Manchester United in the Premier League 2 and his latest strike came this afternoon, helping the north London club to a 3-0 win at Hotspur Way.
As many as five players of Nigerian descent were named in the starting lineup, with Etete joined by Spurs teammates Tobi Omole and goalkeeper Joshua Oluwayemi, while Shola Shoretire and Dillon Hoogewerf were on parade for the Red Devils.
Jamie Bowden’s 27th-minute penalty separated the sides at the break, before Marcel Lavinier added a second in the 64th minute.
Etete's goal five minutes from time made the scoreline more emphatic and ensured that Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways in the division after losing to Derby County four days ago.
The 19-year-old has been in great form in his last thirteen matches in the Premier League 2, scoring eight goals and providing two assists.
He opened his goalscoring account for the season against Manchester United on November 22, 2020.
