Ideho continues rich vein of form with brace and assist in Arsenal's 5-2 drubbing of Aston Villa U18s
Published: May 09, 2021
Dutch-born Nigerian winger Joel Ideho continued his rich vein of form by scoring his first ever brace for an Arsenal team as the U18 side thrashed Aston Villa 5-2 in the U18 Premier League on Saturday.
Having also provided an assist during the game, the promising teenager has had a hand in seven goals (5 goals, 2 assists) in his last seven matches for Arsenal 18s.
Nigerian striker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji smashed home a penalty to give the Gunners the lead after six months.
Arsenal were awarded another penalty on 31 minutes and Ideho made no mistake from the spot, rolling the ball into the bottom corner for 2-0.
Aston Villa were threatening a comeback when the former Ajax Amsterdam starlet finished from close range to make it 4-2., before Amani Richards sealed the win with Arsenal's fifth goal of the game, assisted by Ideho.
Ideho has been involved in twenty-four matches played by Arsenal youth teams in 2020-2021, including debuts in the FA Youth Cup, Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy.
