Legendary ex-Man Utd coach Sir Alex Ferguson watches Shoretire in final workout pre-Villarreal
Published: May 25, 2021
Legendary former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was present at the Stadion Gdansk in Poland as the Red Devils concluded their preparations for Wednesday night's Europa League final against Spanish opponents Villarreal.
Sir Alex Ferguson flew out with the Manchester United squad on Monday and is staying in the same hotel as the players and officials.
The iconic Scottish football tactician watched on from the stands as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer perfected his strategies for tomorrow's game.
There's every indication that Anglo-Nigerian striker Shola Shoretire is in contention to be involved against the Yellow Submarine having participated in the team's last training session on Tuesday.
According to Manchester Evening News, the England youth international was on the same team as goalkeeper Henderson, Williams, Tuanzebe, Bailly, Shaw, Van de Beek, Pogba, James, Amad and Cavani during the 'pre-match match' today.
Shoretire made his European debut against Real Sociedad in a round of 32 second leg clash at Old Trafford, coming off the bench to replace Mason Greenwood in the 76th minute.
The 17-year-old was recently named United's Young Player of the Year for the 2020-2021 season.
