2003-born striker of Nigerian descent double-nominated for Man Utd Goal of the Month

Dutch-born youngster of Nigerian descent Dillon Hoogewerf is in the running for Manchester United's Goal of the Month award for May 2021, informs the official website of the Red Devils.
The 2003-born striker has been double-nominated for the monthly accolade for his efforts against Leeds United and Middlesbrough, corresponding to United's last two games in the U18 Premier League.
Both strikes are joined by contenders from the first team, development squad and Women's team including Anthony Elanga vs Derby U23, Mason Greenwood vs Aston Villa, Ella Toone vs Everton Women, Hannibal vs Derby U23, Mason Greenwood vs Leicester City, Jane Ross vs Leicester Women, Edinson Cavani vs Fulham and Anthony Elanga vs Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Hoogewerf finished the season strongly, scoring in each of his last five matches in the U18 Premier League.
Against Leeds United, he found space in the box to nod home Charlie McNeill’s centre in the 48th minute and completed his hat-trick in the 8-1 rout of Middlesbrough when he received the ball in behind and slotted past Max Metcalfe.
The 18-year-old netted 12 goals and registered 11 assists overall over the course of the 2020-2021 campaign and was in action for 1,353 minutes in the U18 Premier League.
