Former Manchester United attacker Odion Ighalo has won Al-Shabab's Player of the Month award for May 2021.
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer was nominated for the award after impressing in the matches he was involved in last month.
With the exception of the 5-1 loss at Al-Hilal, Ighalo found the net in all the league matches played by Al-Shabab in May.
The 31-year-old bagged a brace in a seven-goal thriller against Al-Ettifaq, was on target against Al-Ain and Al Faisaly, before netting another pair of goals on the final day of the season vs Al Wehda.
Signed from Manchester United in the winter transfer market, Ighalo ended the campaign with nine goals in thirteen league matches for Al-Shabab, logging 844 minutes combined in all the matches.
He played a major role in Al-Shabab finishing second in the Saudi Arabian Pro League table
Should Ighalo remain at Al-Shabab, he is set to represent the club in the 2022 AFC Champions League.
