Simy reaches career-high market value amid link with Brighton & Hove, Serie A clubs
Published: June 03, 2021
Crotone striker Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo has seen his market value jump to a career-high eight million euros amid speculation linking him with possible moves to Brighton & Hove and Italian Serie A clubs in the summer.
According to the latest update by Transfermarkt on Thursday, June 3, the Nigeria international has gained four million euros as he was rated at four million euros back in March 2021.
Crotone are resigned to losing their all-time top scorer after their demotion to the Serie B and are looking at selling him for around the current price-tag suggested by Transfermarkt.
Simy scored 20 goals in the top-flight in 2020-2021, the most by a Nigerian player in a single-season in the Serie A.
As you would expect, he is the most valuable Crotone player, ahead of Arkadiusz Reca, who is rated at €4m.
Simy is only surpassed by Wilfred Ndidi (€50m), Victor Osimhen (€50m), Alex Iwobi (€22m), Samuel Chukwueze (€20m), Paul Onuachu (€17m), Kelechi Iheanacho (€15m) and Emmanuel Dennis (€11m) in the current Super Eagles squad in terms of market value.
Crotone paid less than 900,000 euros to sign the center forward from Portimonense in July 2016.
