Fiorentina eye Super Eagles star as replacement for Liverpool-linked striker Vlahovic
Published: June 12, 2021
Italian Serie A club Fiorentina are working on a deal to sign Crotone's all-time top scorer Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo, according to reports.
Famous Italian transfer market reporter Alfredo Pedulla writes on his website that Fiorentina are in the market for a striker and have identified the Nigeria national teamer as an alternative to Dusan Vlahovic, who is being linked with a possible move to Liverpool in the summer.
Fiorentina have an excellent relationship with Crotone and are willing to meet the Sharks' ten million euros valuation of the striker.
Though Simy is eager to move to the English Premier League, he would not reject a transfer to one of the top teams in the Italian top-flight.
The 29-year-old has been linked with numerous clubs, including Sampdoria, Salernitana, Lazio and Torino, after an outstanding season that saw him net 20 goals in 38 matches, forty four percent of the overall goals netted by Crotone in the Serie A.
Premier League club Brighton & Hove have also been credited with an interest in the lanky striker, who has a contract with Crotone until June 2022.
