Nigeria's record appearance holder in Serie A tells Man Utd, Spurs what to expect if they sign Belotti
Published: June 15, 2021
Christian Obodo, Nigeria's record appearance holder in the Italian Serie
A with 196 games under his belt for four different clubs Perugia,
Udinese, Fiorentina and US Lecce, is convinced that Italy international Andrea Belotti will cut it in the English Premier League.
Torino president Urbano Cairo is willing to listen to offers for Belotti this summer with the striker's contract set to expire on June 30, 2022.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old on numerous occasions while Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are also among his suitors in England.
Obodo thinks this is the appropriate time for Andrea Belotti to end his six-year association with Torino and highlighted that one of the Premier League clubs interested in his services would be signing a workaholic player if the move goes through.
"Belotti has tried a lot, he has really made Torino proud, has been carrying Torino these past years," Obodo told allnigeriasoccer.com.
"A lot of clubs have been looking to sign him but at the end of the season he always remained at Torino.
"I think it is high-time for him to move if he has those offers from the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur because he is a player that doesn't give up.
"Belotti fights for the team, he works for the team, he can play, he can do everything as far as the ball is concerned, so if he goes to England it will not be difficult for him because he is not a lazy player.
"He is a workaholic player, you know sometimes the management don't give players the whole time to adapt to the new environment but I believe Belotti has really, really proved himself.
"He has played in the Europa League qualifiers, for Italy's national team, he is not going to find it difficult anywhere he goes".
