Super Eagles midfielder joins Premier League new boys Brentford subject to medical
Published: June 22, 2021Frank Onyeka is set to become the third Nigeria international in contention to make his English top-flight debut in the forthcoming season barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Super Eagles assistant captain William Troost-Ekong helped Watford seal promotion to the Premier League and has been retained by the club, while the Hornets announced the capture of Emmanuel Dennis from Club Brugge on Monday.
According to Danish newspaper BT, Onyeka's switch to FC Midtjylland's newly promoted sister club Brentford is close to becoming a reality.
The defensive midfielder is on his way to the Danish capital to undergo a routine medical after vacationing in his homeland Nigeria.
The medical check-up will take place on Wednesday, June 23rd in Copenhagen and not London, the city where Brentford are based.
Onyeka, whose contract would have expired on June 30, 2024, departs FC Midtjylland after 123 appearances for the first team.
