Premier League clubs showing interest in Werder Bremen fullback Agu
Published: July 05, 2021
German-Nigerian fullback Felix Agu is being linked with a departure from Werder Bremen before the summer transfer window closes for business.
According to German newspaper Bild, it is becoming increasingly unlikely that the Germany U21 international would be a player of Werder Bremen in the forthcoming season.
Werder Bremen were demoted from the German Bundesliga at the end of the 2020-2021 campaign and Agu would like to continue playing for a top-flight club.
Teams in the German top-flight and unnamed Premier League clubs are interested in acquiring the services of the defender.
Working on a shoestring budget next season following their relegation, Werder Bremen are open to selling Agu if they receive an offer of at least three million euros (N1.76 billion in Nigerian currency) in order to boost their finances.
The 21-year-old arrived at Werder Bremen on a free transfer last summer after stops at VfL Osnabrück and Osnabrücker SC.
Last season, Agu recorded 18 appearances for The River Islanders, scoring two goals and providing an assist.
