Leicester City confirm squad numbers for two Super Eagles stars pre-Wolves
Published: August 13, 2021
Leicester City have confirmed the squad numbers the first team players will be wearing on the back of their jerseys for the 2021-2022 season before their Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Nigeria internationals Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi have kept the numbers they wore last season, meaning the striker has been assigned number 14 and the holding midfielder number 25.
Iheanacho wore the number 8 in his first two seasons at The Foxes following his move from Manchester City, before switching to number 14.
The number 8 has been assigned to Belgium international Youri Tielemans since the 2019-2020 campaign.
Iheanacho has been wearing the number 14 shirt regularly for the Super Eagles.
Ndidi has been playing with the number 25 since turning professional at Racing Genk in 2014-2015.
Meanwhile, Leicester City's first opponents in the Premier League, Wolverhampton Wanderers have also confirmed their squad numbers, handing number 54 to Owen Otasowie.
The Anglo-American-Nigerian midfielder donned the same number last season.
