'I still don't understand'- Leicester's Ndidi baffled by Vardy's match-winning strike vs Wolves
Published: August 20, 2021
Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has admitted that he is baffled by Jamie Vardy's match-winning strike against Wolverhampton Wanderers in their opening Premier League match of the season last weekend.
Four minutes before half-time, Ricardo weaved his way through and sent in a low cross for Vardy, who pulled across to the near post before slotting past goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Ndidi revealed that he didn't know how the former England international managed to race in front of his marker and praised Ricardo for the excellent delivery.
Speaking to LCFC TV, Ndidi stated : "I still do not understand how Vards got there! Even during the game I was saying to Daniel [Amartey]: ‘I don’t understand how Vards got there and then dipped it into the goal!’
"It was brilliant from Ricardo to get past those guys and then the cross…
"I still don’t understand how Vards got there. It was really good, that’s why he’s there, so we move."

Up next for Ndidi and his Foxes teammates is a trip to the English capital London, where they face West Ham United on Monday, August 23.
