Birmingham City urged to make move for Manchester United's Anglo-Nigerian wonderkid
Published: August 20, 2021BirminghamLive's Alex Dicken is urging Birmingham City to make a move for Manchester United striker Shola Shoretire before the transfer window closes for business.
This is coming after reports suggested that the Anglo-Nigerian is one of the promising youngsters on the periphery of the United first team who are available for loan, the others being Brandon Williams, Amad Diallo, Anthony Elanga, Teden Mengi and James Garner.
After three games in the new Championship season, Birmingham City have only found the net once and it came from a right midfielder cum right back in Maxime Colin.
The Blues technical director Craig Gardner has a good relationship with his Manchester United counterpart Darren Fletcher, with both playing together at West Brom before hanging up their boots.
Gardner has been urged to use his contact with Fletcher to secure the signing of either Elanga or Shoretire
On Shoretire, Birmingham Live wrote : "Like Elanga, Shoretire has played a lot of his football on the left of a forward line but boasted a record of 10 goals in 21 matches for United’s second string last term.
"Shoretire made three appearances off the bench for the first team last season and would undoubtedly add an extra sprinkle of star-dust to Blues’ attack."

Birmingham City bolstered their ranks in the off season with the signing of former Nigeria Football Federation target Chuks Aneke but the Arsenal academy product has yet to open his account after 118 minutes of action in all competitions.
