'Impossible to stop' - Nigerian-born ex-Man City defender hails Lukaku
Published: August 22, 2021
All eyes will be at the Emirates Stadium later this afternoon when Arsenal face off with Chelsea in a London derby asĀ Romelu Lukaku is expected to make his second debut for the visitors.
The center forward position was one area that Chelsea needed to strengthen in the summer transfer window and manager Thomas Tuchel has addressed that with the signing of the Belgium international, whom he is banking on for goals to win the Blues the Premier League title in 2021-2022.
Lukaku returns to England on the back of a successful season at Inter Milan, scoring 24 goals and chipping in with 10 assists in 36 games.
Nigerian-born former Manchester City central defender Nedum
Onuoha, who played against Lukaku in the striker's first stint in
England, has underlined that the new Chelsea number 9 has the potential
to cause a lot of damage.
"I played against Lukaku when he was in the academy as well," Onuoha said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
"He obviously has the physical side but he has the tactical as well. He is one where when he is on and it is his day it is impossible to stop them scoring.
"You can make it difficult for them, but he is that difference maker. When he is on, he is on."
Prior to hanging up his boots, Onuoha recorded 188 appearances in the English Premier League for three different clubs namely Manchester City, Queens Park Rangers and Sunderland.
