'Baller' - Super Eagles-eligible trio hail Reece James after goal and assist vs Arsenal
Published: August 22, 2021
One of the players that caught the eye during Arsenal's 2-0 loss to Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium in London on Sunday evening was Blues academy product Reece James.
Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea cemented their position as title contenders after winning their second consecutive Premier League match thanks to strikes from Romelu Lukaku and James.
Chelsea
broke the deadlock when the lively James crossed low for the
onrushing Lukaku to tap home in the fifteenth minute and the England international turned from provider to scorer by lashing into the top corner after he was picked out by Mason Mount ten minutes before half-time.
Three Super Eagles-eligible players - Fulham loanee Timmy Abraham, Bournemouth's Philip Billing and Chelsea's Faustino Anjorin - took to social media to praise James for his display against the Gunners.
Timmy's sibling Tammy Abraham is pals with the Chelsea wing-back and Anjorin has trained alongside the England international on countless occasions.
Billing knows all about the qualities of James, having played against him during the 2019-2020 season, specifically February 29, 2020 at the Vitality Stadium, where both players went the distance.
Shortly after the win versus Arsenal, James posted on Instagram : "Lovely afternoon in north London.⚽️🅰️".
Responding to the post by the Chelsea number 24, Faustino Anjorin sent a message to his teammate using emojis, '🔥❤️'
Billing stated, 'Baller' and Timmy Abraham added, 'Unreal 🔥🔥'.
