Every word said by Osimhen on brace, Leicester, what Napoli coach said at half-time, teammates
Published: September 16, 2021Nigeria international Victor Osimhen was on media duties shortly after his brace helped Napoli fight back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Leicester City in a Europa League match at the King Power Stadium on Thursday night.
Ayoze Perez volleyed in the opener in the ninth minute, Harvey Barnes added a second in the 64th minute before Osimhen earned Napoli a point with his first goals of 2021-2022.
Speaking after the game, the Napoli number 9 lauded his teammates, revealed how manager Luciano Spalletti motivated the players when they were trailing at half-time and spoke about the pedigree of Leicester City.
Here's every word from Osimhen's post-match press conference :
Victor Osimhen, how did it feel? There was obviously a lot of physicality by the English team but also when you were two down you just did not let go? How did it feel?
"Of course we played against a very good side and well organized in their games, and I think for us to be two goals down gave us the strength.
"What the coach told us after the first half gave us the courage and the motivation to even get going and get those two goals and I am proud to have contributed".
I wanted to ask how important is the result against Leicester City and them being one of the strongest teams?
"It feels great to get a point at the King Power Stadium. Leicester like I said earlier is a very good team and of course we have to be on top of our game and the best of our game to be able to have a point here.
"Like I said earlier I am happy to have contributed and kudos to the whole team for not giving up also."
