Nigerian central defender earns Scottish Premiership Team of the Week recognition
Published: December 20, 2021
Livingston central defender Ayo Obileye has been named in Whoscored.com's Scottish Premiership Team of the Week following his outstanding performance against Ross County at the weekend.
With a minute to go, the former Nigeria U23 invitee headed in a brilliant delivery from James Penrice at the back post to score a last-gasp equaliser for the Lions.
The Scottish Premiership Team of the Week is dominated by Motherwell who have contributed five players followed by Rangers with three, while Livingston, Ross County and Hearts have one representative each.
Whoscored.com rated Obileye at 7.69, the top rated player in the match between Livingston and Ross County.
His game-high 72 touches of the ball over the course of ninety minutes saw him make 59 passes, play two shots and win four aerial duels.
Defensively, Obileye made six clearances and two blocks, and didn't give away any foul while winning one.
