Man Utd's teenage Nigeria-eligible striker called up by England after debuting for Spain Youth
Published: December 20, 2021
The race for the services of promising Manchester United striker Victor Musa Aigbomian is getting hotter following his call-up to the Young Lions squad for a pair of friendlies against Turkey's U16 national team, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The 2006-born player is spoilt for choice over the national team to represent as he is also eligible for Nigeria and Spain.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation were previously in pole position for the services of Musa after he made his debut for their U16 squad in a 3-0 win over Republic of Ireland in their opening match of the Alfaz de Pí International Tournament on November 24.
Musa was an unused substitute as England U16s defeated Turkey 2-1 at St. George's Park on Monday evening.
Having missed out today, the 15-year-old could make his international debut for the Young Lions in Wednesday's clash against the same opponents.
He could still play for Nigeria's Golden Eaglets without applying for a change of association provided that he does not make his competitive debut for either Spain or England's youth teams.
Musa cut his footballing teeth at Club Deportivo Lourdes before his move to Manchester United in the summer.
