Middlesbrough on brink of deal for Arsenal's Anglo-American-Nigerian striker
According to the Daily Express, Middlesbrough are on the brink of finalizing a deal with Arsenal for Folarin Balogun which would see the center forward remain on loan at the Championship club until the end of the 2021-2022 campaign.

The Anglo-American-Nigerian striker was interesting multiple clubs in the Championship plus teams in the German Bundesliga and French Ligue 1 but it is looking likely that Boro have won the race for his signature.

Balogun was expected to depart the Gunners in June but made a U-turn and put pen to paper on a new contract with the hope that he would get first-team opportunities this term.

The 20-year-old is eager to leave the Emirates Stadium on a temporary basis in pursuit of first team football

Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder is set to finally land his man after he was priced out of a deal during his time as Sheffield United manager.

For the imminent loan, Arsenal would be saving Balogun's wages until June 2022 as Boro have agreed to cover his entire wages for the duration of the loan.

Balogun was named Premier League 2 Player of the Month for November 2021.
