Arsenal's Nigerian-born midfielder linked with loan move changes his agent
Published: January 30, 2022
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Arsenal's Nigerian-born midfielder Tim Akinola has changed his agent amid speculation linking him with a loan move as from the January transfer window.
The highly-rated youngster is now looked after by Next Generation Agency, who also handle the affairs of another Anglo-Nigerian player in former Liverpool winger Rinsola Babajide.
Akinola had been tipped to depart the Emirates Stadium on a temporary basis in the summer transfer window but he stayed put at the Gunners as they were only willing to listen to loan offers from English Football League clubs.
The 20-year-old has seen his stock rise in recent months, making his non-competitive first team debut in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Brentford in September and has also trained with the senior squad on countless occasions.
He has been identified as a player with leadership qualities with Arsenal U23 boss handing him the captain's armband for the Premier League 2 clash against West Ham United on January 14.
Akinola had stops at Lincoln City and Huddersfield Town before landing at Arsenal in the summer of 2020.
