Napoli target Liverpool striker as replacement for Victor Osimhen
Published: February 22, 2022Italian Serie A club Napoli would be willing to part company with their record signing Victor Osimhen if they receive a monster bid amid speculation linking the Nigeria international with a move to the Premier League.
According to Italian transfer market website Tuttomercatoweb.com, Napoli are interested in signing Liverpool attacker Divock Origi who is out of contract in the summer.
Those upstairs at the Parthenopeans believe Origi is the ideal replacement for Osimhen and in the event that the Nigerian is not sold, the Belgium international could play alongside the former Lille star.
Napoli have set the wheels in motion to sign Origi by making contact with the player's intermediaries.
The stumbling block to a deal is that Origi currently takes home 4.5 million euros gross per season at Liverpool, which is more than Napoli's salary limit of 3 million euros.
Osimhen is a player destined for the English Premier League and it's only a question of time when the move will happen.
The 2015 U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner is under contract with Napoli until June 30, 2025.
