Crystal Palace fullback namechecks Moses as he discusses academy players brought into first team
Crystal Palace fullback Nathaniel Clyne namechecked Victor Moses as he discussed the players who were brought into the first team of the Eagles after rising through the academy ranks.

Moses joined Crystal Palace at the age of twelve and made his first team debut at the age of sixteen in a Championship clash against Cardiff City.

The right winger went on to make 69 appearances in all competitions for Crystal Palace and scored eleven goals before joining Wigan Athletic in January 2010.

Clyne, himself an academy graduate, has highlighted that there is a pathway to the first team of Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace have several players of Nigerian descent in their academy ranks hoping to follow in the footsteps of Moses, including Tayo Adaramola, Victor Akinwale, David Omilabu, David Ozoh and Ademola Ola-Adebomi.

Speaking to the Palace matchday programme for the visit of Arsenal, Clyne said : "When I was watching players that were similar to my age, they were getting in: John Bostock, Sean Scannell, Victor Moses.

"When you see players you’ve played with make it through to the first-team, that’s the biggest eye-opener you can get.

"They were once with you, but now they’re there. If they can be there, I can be there. That’s the way you see it."

U23 Left-back Adaramola is knocking on the first team door, having been named in matchday squads on three occasions this season and has been invited to train with the senior team several times.
